What is your favourite part about your job?

Well besides the fact I get to do what I really love every day, my favourite part is that its flexible and its challenging. I wear many hats in my day to day job, so learning to pivot and constantly adapt is a big part of my job now- I learn many new things every single day.

Club 22 is obviously based in London, what is your favourite hidden gem in London?

A favourite of mine ever since I moved to London seven years ago is Gordons wine bar, which is hidden down some steps between Embankment and Charing cross… It’s the oldest wine bar in London. The inside has remained exactly the same as it was in the late 1800’s and I love that! Another favourite of mine is an English rose garden in Battersea park which is hidden away, lots of people don’t know about it, It’s beautiful and smells divine.

Where are we likely to find you on the weekend?

My favourite thing to do on Saturday is go to the farmers market on Duke of York square in Chelsea- the Partridges duck confit sandwich is honestly the best sandwich in the world. I’ll normally then spend a few hours browsing on the Kings Rd to my boyfriend’s dismay ha!! On Sundays we tend to head up to Kenwood house through Hampstead Heath and have a long lazy lunch. London can get a little hectic so I always find the green space and woody areas up there so refreshing.

What is your current Netflix obsession?

I recently binge watched ‘Lost in Space’ over the bank holiday with my boyfriend- we were hooked! I love a sci-fi drama but also love documentaries – I’m now watching ‘Top 10 Secrets and mysteries’ which is about mythical creatures and UFO’s, I love that stuff!

If you got deserted on another alien planet, which candle would you take with you?

I think Rouge, it’s my favourite, it makes me feel at home and I think the aliens would love it too!!

Back down to Earth, fav places to visit in Europe?

I love Italy and Spain. Last year I spent New Years in Seville with my family. It’s the home of Flamenco and of course famous for its oranges. The orange trees stand tall along most streets and so the breeze just carries this gorgeous orange fragrance. I love the Mediterranean culture.

Did you take a lot of inspiration from Europe for your fragrances?

Yes, in fact all over the world. To me fragrance is a reminder of people and places, so each one of our 7 fragrances has a secret little place in my heart.

What’s special about your brand?

There’s nothing worse than burning a scented candle to find it doesn’t smell of anything. Having worked in the industry for a while in London, I got frustrated finding this again and again with brands which are pretty well known. So, when we started Club 22 London, one thing was very clear from the start, the fragrance would be most important thing, We played around with formulations and ended up going with the highest we could. Secondly, I was bored with the standard plain glass ‘fresh linen’ candle that every brand seems to churn out, I wanted our brand to be chic, but quirky and full of fun so we made a bespoke rose gold colour and named them fabulously.
